THE CONCEPT "GJESTFRIE HUS"

The concept “Gjestfrie Hus” basically translates to “Hospitable Houses” and consists of several accommodation options in the Old Town of Skudeneshavn. We can promise you a pleasant stay. We can give you good advice on what you can experience while you visit our lovely island Karmøy.

The main house is best known as “Blondefabrikken Gjestgiveri” (directly translates to The Lace Factory Guesthouse), here you will find the reception and breakfast room for all the accommodation sites. At “Blondefabrikken” there are 5 double guest rooms with their own bathroom.

The guest house was an old sailing ship factory and was established as a shuttle service in 1720, and which later got a royal grant as an Inn and Guesthouse in 1771.

The dock and the guesthouse is in the heart of the cultural environment in Skudeneshavn and is the next door neighbor to the museum (Mælandsgården) in Skudeneshavn.

With us you can be accommodated in newly restored rooms with modern comfort. All of our rooms have their own bathroom. A lovely breakfast in the historical living rooms is included. We love to make our guests feel like home and “Blondefabrikken” is therefore an important contributor to the concept “Gjestfrie Hus”.

In addition to the guesthouse we have an exciting arena in our seahouse with facilities for art, course activities with serving and a meeting room.

Lundin’s Sommerhotell (Lundins summerhotel) is also one of the contributors to the concept “Gjestfrie Hus”. The summer hotel is located in “Søragadå”, the famous street in Old Town Skudeneshavn, where the street is at its narrowest.

The house was built by shipowner Fredrik Lundin in 1853 and has recently been fully restored. From 1880 to 1910 the building was used as accommodation under the name Lundins Hotell. We have two beautiful rooms for rent where you will find an unique combination of modern comfort and historical atmosphere.

As our guest you will have access to a “drawing-room” with a TV and a sunny terrasse where you can relax and enjoy the surroundings. Both rooms have their own bathroom. A lovely breakfast at “Blondefabrikken” is included. This building is also known for housing the gallery “Galleri Centauri” and the historical bad “Tidens Minde”. The summer hotel is open in the summer between 1th of May - 31th of August.
